French cook – La soupe de potiron
Because I love to cook, I decided to share with you some of my favorite French recipes. I converted any measures, to fit as many people as possible in the world. I will start with a seasonal recipe, “La soupe de potiron”, “Pumpkin soup” in english. This recipe is very simple and taste delicious.
Ingredients you need for 4 or 5 people :
- 1 onion (1 oignon)
- 1 carrot (1 carotte)
- 1 pumpkin 2.2 lb (1 potiron de 1kg)
- butter 0.22 lb (100gr de beurre)
- milk 1 cup (1/4 de litre de lait)
- grated nutmeg (noix de muscade râpée)
- salt, pepper (sel, poivre)
Cut the pumpkin flesh into pieces. Peel and chop the onion. Melt over low heat onion in butter. Add the pumpkin, the peeled carrot and 4 cup water. Add salt, pepper and grated nutmeg. Cook 30 minutes from the boiling. Add the milk at the end of the cook. Use a blender to mix all well. Bon appétit ! (Pic coming soon !)
